While we move through the summer of 2021 there is an element of doubt concerning how Rotary can continue to facilitate those human connections Rotary members valued over the years. Although the mantra of "hands-face-space" is certain to become commonplace in our club, it is evident that trust is growing and more people are making face-to-face relationships. The Rotary organization has evolved. There is still a level of uncertainty as we move to the summer of 2021. It remains to be seen how the human connections that Rotary members cherished during the past will remain. Although the mantra of hands face space' will undoubtedly be part of our ongoing practice, it's evident that confidence is building and more face-to-face connections are happening. However, Rotary has changed. Rotary is a network that helps build lasting relationships. While maintaining our online meetings for business meetings and social interactions, we've brought back the concept of social interaction and service in a safer face-to facing way. We have taken the new possibilities and merged them with our pre-pandemic habits to make a bright new future for Rotary! It's an encouraging thing to hear that 75 percent of Rotary clubs intend to keep their "business as usual" activities. This summer, many Rotary club members have been seen with their families and friends, working on various projects including river and beach tidy-ups and trash pick-ups. In the Rotary Survey, it was reassuring to observe that a majority of the members continue with previous initiatives and projects which have helped the communities in Great Britain. I am equally proud that the Rotary Support Centre team continues to offer valuable tools that help promote these many projects and ensure that the infrastructure is maintained to keep our members and public secure as compliance and insurance is crucial. Volunteering with the help of Rotary builds lasting relationships based upon the experience shared of volunteering time to serve the community gain. It's thrilling to witness the way our members are able to come up with creative solutions for certain of the most challenging problems. I'm grateful for the fact that Rotary offered me the opportunity to join the club in 2002. Rotary also has provided me with an excellent network of friends who share the same values. I am grateful for this.
