In the summer months in 2021, there's a constant level of uncertainty in how our contribution to society will be able to include the significant human connection experienced by Rotary Rotarians in earlier times. It is a fact that the mantra "hands face space" will be an important part of the routine It's evident that there is a growing confidence and a determination to meet face-to-face. But Rotary has evolved. As we move into in the summer of 2021 and the uncertainty about whether Rotary will be able to offer the same level of human interaction which Rotary members experienced in the before continues. While the "hands in space" principle is certain to be a part of the regular routine at our club There's no doubt that a sense of confidence is growing and more members have been able to make connections face-to-face. Rotary has also changed. Rotary's network creates bonds that last. The pandemic served as our catalyst to embrace technology. We've honed our practices maintaining the business meetings online' whilst reintroducing service and social activity in a safe face-to-face format. We've taken these new opportunities and combined them with the best of our pre-pandemic habits to make an optimistic future for Rotary! According to an Rotary survey 75% of members plan their normal business activities. Watch this video 1. Amanda Watkin - General Secretary's Column in Rotary Magazine In a recent Rotary survey, I was encouraged to see that around 75 percent of clubs are organizing their usual business events and initiatives which have helped communities up and down the countries in Great Britain and Ireland. It's wonderful to learn that the Rotary support centre team provides important resources to assist with the development and maintenance of the infrastructure, keeping people who are members safe. Compliance and insurance are also important. It is amazing that our Rotary members have managed to find innovative and creative solutions to the biggest challenges. This is the reason I was so happy to have the chance to become a member of Rotary in 2002. Rotary has also provided me with an excellent network of friends who are like-minded. I am extremely grateful for this. So now let's all share Rotary and ask our family acquaintances and coworkers to join us as members of the most amazing worldwide network that truly will make a positive impact.
